The Garden, the Curtain, and the Cross

Carl Laferton

Ages 4-7

The Garden, the Curtain, and the Cross tells the story of how humans were separated from God because of their sin and the lengths to which God went to restore fellowship with us.

Question 1 - Why were Adam and Eve sent out of the Garden?

Discussion Guide - Discuss how sin separates us from God. Adam and Eve could no longer live in the Garden because of their sin.

Question 2 - Why was there a curtain around the most special place in the temple?

Discussion Guide - Discuss how people could not come into God’s presence because of their sin.

Question 3 - Why did the curtain tear when Jesus died?

Discussion Guide - Discuss how, on the cross, Jesus took all our sin upon Himself and bore God’s wrath toward our sin. Once our sins were paid for, humans could once again be in God’s presence.

Bonus Activity - If your child has gone through Foundation Early Childhood Worldview Curriculum, go through lessons 19 and 20 again, focusing on how all humans miss the mark and how Jesus hit the mark for us.
